At Short Story Club, we analyse the classics to learn more about how the masters achieved their greatness, and to bring back the joy to reading. Stopping to appreciate a piece and reading it over and over help to build our appreciation for that work of art, plus it’s just a heightened experience.
Last week, we dissected Flannery O’Connor’s excellent tale, A Good Man is Hard to Find.
This week’s tale is a story that was suggested by a few members of our club, and that is the insanely good, The Rocking Horse Winner by D.H. Lawrence.
As always, I’ll post my thoughts next Monday (17 Mar) and you can join the discussion there.
May your shadow never grow less,
Paul O
Just in passing - it seems that no matter what horse we ride, we all reach the same end of the same path eventually. Happy thought for the day!
